A recent revamping fully respects the Plaza’s authenticity. Silks, gold, bronzes, inlaid marble floors and sparkling crystal chandeliers vie to epitomise chic and tradition, while a bold dash of Art Déco has been added on the top two floors. Touches of «Plaza» red, graceful classical furniture and clocks in a soothing creamy-toned decor compose an unparalleled setting for sumptuous living.

Universally acclaimed Chef Alain Ducasse, who oversees all the restauration of the hotel, has found a showcase for his talents at Plaza Athénée Restaurant. From May to September, among banks of red geraniums, Mediterranean lunch is served within the garden courtyard’s verdant ivy walls. Inventive cocktails are created at the illuminated long bar, fashioned by Philippe Jouin to represent an iceberg in sculpted, sandblasted glass.

Two dedicated multilingual employees per guest along with the latest communications technology, and a fitness centre offering a private coach, massage and sauna, make the Plaza the preferred choice for international businessmen and discerning pleasure-seekers alike.

A Dior Institut opened at the Hotel Plaza Athénée in 2008: an elegant and refined concept, composed of five treatment rooms and a fitness area totalling 500 square meters.
