Hotel details
Othmar Schneider struck gold twice!
The first time was in 1952 during the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo for slalom skiing and the second in 1968, when he masterminded the beautiful Hotel Kristiania. He opened the hotel in his hometown, Lech, which coincidently happens to be one of the most exclusive ski destinations in Europe.
The hotel attracts many on account of its famous proprietor; however he plays a supporting role to the hotel.
Original contemporary paintings occupy much of the wall space that veers away from the traditional alpine exterior. Rooms compliment the artwork with modern accents to classic fixtures.
The warm atmosphere in the Rote Bar, seduces the après ski crowd with its friendly banter and extensive malt selection. This acts as the perfect precursor to a luxe meal at the hotel’s restaurant.
The chef deviates from the traditional Austrian fare one would expect and surprises the palette with a mixture of diverse cuisines producing sensational results.
Comfort remains the hotel’s greatest asset, transcending from the owners to the décor and spreading to its convivial occupants.
